July & August, 2010

Yes, we’re delinquent.
It’s been a busy time and we focused on enjoying the moments, rather than documenting them, it seems. Hope you’ll all forgive us.
We left off at the end of June …
Early July took us to southern California for a trip to visit Liz’s brother, David and our good friends, the Ryan family.
With the [...]

Happy Birthday, Michael!!

And happy Father’s Day to all dads!
In honor of the auspicious coincidence of these two milestones being celebrated on the same day, we went camping! We were booked for two nights, but decided to come home yesterday for two reasons– 1) sleep (the girls starting the week off sleep deprived is not [...]

Last day of school

E’s last day was a lot of fun (signing yearbooks, a school-wide picnic and awards assembly, early dismissal). I volunteered to lead the picnic today which turned out pretty well. I needed to take the day off from work to do it, though. Preparing for the lunch took from 9-11:30 with 3 other volunteers…. then [...]

Thanks to the Lewiston Schlax clan for the Bo items! Super cute. More pics coming soon.

Whoever sent the “Bo” stuff from Amazon- please identify yourself! There was no packing slip in the box. You are right… Atticus does look a little like the First Dog!!
He is doing well. Sleep is good. Knowing [...]

E Rides Bike

Happy Birthday Aunt Paula. E decided to learn how to ride a bike on your special day. I made a quick video of some of her best rides. You can see it here.
E was a real trooper. She stuck to it even though she fell down a few times.
The vet said that Atticus [...]

First Day Home with Atticus

We picked up Atticus in the Quad Cities yesterday at the airport. He was understandably a little scared. I was surprised by all the Fabio style hair. Above, Liz is doing one of the personality tests to see if he has an aggressive personality. You can see that Atticus has no problem being pampered. Once [...]

Welcome, Little Brother

Atticus is here! A very easy trip– he wasn’t sick and didn’t have an accident in the car. Just calm and sleeping for most of it. He’s really, really cute. So soft and sweet. He has whimpered a couple of times, but there has been lots of tail wagging. He seems to be a [...]

Ignore my fancy first bike! Focus on my dancing debut. You can download the dance recital here.
(Liz apologizes for the filming… it’s not great. I blame sheer excitement.)

Atticus Finch Patrick Schlax

Yup, that’s his name. Is there any limit to number of middle names? If not, we will be accepting other nominations. Why Patrick?, you ask…? Not only is it his “human father’s” middle name, but his bday is March 17, it turns out.
Nominate away….
