Here are some pics that are a few weeks old. Turns out Mike had already done all the hard work– choosing and saving the pictures. He just needed some text. Well– I’m happy to oblige!
So, as we said, we had a fantastic weekend in New Jersey/ NYC with Christine & Todd. We also had the extra double bonus of having brunch with Elise & Dave before Spamalot. Elise and Dave were kind enough to take care of E while we laughed at all the Monty Python silliness.
Here, Christine and I revel in the joy and excitement of being at a Broadway show. The leads were all great– including David Hyde Pierce, Tim Curry, and Sara Ramirez, who played the Lady of the Lake. Mike could relate to all this musical nonsense because a) it was Monty Python b) David Hyde Pierce and c) “The Guy from Firefly.” He did a good job.
In addition to the show being great, it was fun that one member of the chorus was a woman named Emily Hsu. Emily, Christine, and I were all in Godspell together in college in 1991. That’s the show in which Christine & I met! So it was a bit of a reunion– despite Christine and my being in the audience and Emily’s being on stage. Afterward, we went to the stage door to say hi to Emily. It was a brief but warm reunion.
Below, you can see the happy (practicing…) babysitters and their charge. All three look pretty happy, no? E had a great time at the Central Park Zoo with Elise & Dave. Elise & Dave were quite indulgent, in fact, allowing E to point on the map where she wanted to go (they have a bit more confidence in her brain-to-finger connections than we do) and then going there! If they’re telling the truth, not a tear was shed from 1:30 when we left them until 4:45 when we met them again….
Here’s a fun and silly picture of most of the theatergoers as we headed back to the car. We stopped in Starbuck’s on the way. E likes green tea frappuccinos, by the way.
To see a video of E practicing with her walker click here. Mike thinks it’s pretty obvious from the video that E will be right handed. By the way, this walker thingy is the absolute best for helping little ones learn to walk. It’s light enough to be really easy maneuvered, as you can see. Great gift for any 9-14 month old baby learning to walk. Thank you Matt, Becky, and Kaitlin!!
Recent news: Mike is feeling better– but had a fever of 103-104 off-and-on all weekend. E is now not only walking all over the place by herself, but she also knows how to get up when she falls, without holding onto furniture, etc. It’s quite impressive. Pics soon.
