Drinking from a cup
E is learning to drink from toy cups from her play kitchen. The whole thing started when she learned to stand on the footstool and turn on the water. If we leave the door open we’ll hear the water start running and E say “Washing Hands .. Washing Hands …” One nice thing is that she is only tall enough to turn on the cold water. She still has a long way to go though. You might not be able to see it here, but E is basically pouring cups of water on her shirt and pants. After each pour, she would say “Ahhhh Water” She was later changed into dry clothes and the door shut. The hard thing is that most of the doors have those latch handles, not knobs. A short time later we heard the water start again.
A loud boom was heard across Zweibrücken last Sunday as E broke the Speed-of-Seesaw. You can see daddy’s hand in the picture trying (but failing) to slow her down. While it was thought to be impossible, the small dog-shaped profile she was riding was strong enough to endure the extreme T-forces (Toddler Forces). As her Seesaw confidence has increased, she has become proficient enough to get on and off of the motorcycle See-Saw that B-Pa made her.
Liz also took this awesome picture of E on the swing. When we take her to the park she goes on all the equipment. She likes to climb the 6-foot slide ladder all by herself. (Daddy or Mommy keep their hands around her in case she slips. She has about an 80% success rate. She’ll ride for a while on one piece of equipment and then announce “This one” with a point and we move on to the next one.
