Adwoa und Ama

It was a fairly brutal week… J had some sleepless nights and was SUPER crabby at school. They were quite perplexed and didn’t know what to do, since it was so out of character.

On Wednesday night, J finally slept well… thanks for sending all the good vibes! So when she was STILL super crabby on Thursday morning (which caused Michael to miss an 8 AM meeting because she was throwing such a fit at daycare and he just couldn’t leave) and continued with really bad behavior all day, I thought we better go to the doctor.

Ear infection.

She has been on antibiotics since last night and she slept well last night (except for the 3:30 AM wake-up in which she decided to get up and climb into her sister’s bed….waking up her sister… They both went back to sleep quickly after I separated them) and had a non-crabby day at daycare. Phew. I haven’t heard her ask for her bipsy in a couple of days.

So we think we are done with the drama… we’ll see.

My first week at my new job went well. I didn’t accomplish a thing, but I sure did learn a lot and meet lots of people!

It also is around 50 degrees for some reason, so the snow is finally melting. Maybe we will have a trip to the zoo… we’ll see.

Let’s just say that 2009 ain’t no 2007.
Bipsy Fairy 2007 went smoothly.
BF 2009, not so much.

J put her pacifiers (bipsies) in the bag for the BF on Sunday afternoon and we hung the bag on the tree outside. In the morning, she found that in place of her bipsies were some stuffed animals. In between those events, however…. she was up every hour or two.
GREAT before my first real day of work. AND… Michael wasn’t feeling very well. What a great idea to do this! Hmmm…

Monday night was a little better, but not dramatically. Instead of waking up and crying for her bipsy 8 or 10 times, she only did it 5 or 6.

Tuesday night she woke up frequently until midnight, then there was a 4-hour sleep stretch.. WOO-HOO!

Fingers crossed for tonight.

In addition to the sleep issue… she has been really crabby (I wonder why) at daycare. Miss Andrea, her teacher, has the patience of a saint and adores J. But…. there is a limit. Even she got tired of J the last 2 days.

SO… in addition to fingers crossed for tonight, a little prayer that she will be back to her sunny self soon.

That’s the big news here.

Oh, and I like my new job a lot. It is a lot to take in, but it’s all good.
