“I don’t like the ‘Vinegar Gruff’.”
J has always been a bit jumpy, as we say. She was easily startled as a baby… we would have to walk up to her very carefully so as not to scare her. Well, she seemed to get over that at around age 2 and we had a year of relative jumpy-free days. Now, J seems to be quite afraid of anything remotely scary in books or movies. She doesn’t like The Little Mermaid anymore because of the “shark part.” She doesn’t like to watch Enchanted because of the dragon. The list of movies that she will watch is dwindling. Same with some books. Apparently, they have read The Three Billy Goats Gruff at daycare and she doesn’t like the whole troll business…. Hence the title of this post. She has been saying that every day or so for the last week. It took me a while to figure out what she was referring to…. she clearly says, “Vinegar.” It’s pretty cute. As with most things she does.
