Raking up Leaves

We spent Saturday doing chores. These photos are after nap. It was great fun to jump in the leaf pile. J lost her shoes in the pile several times. At one point, they both took off their shoes and ran around the yard. I had to stop them from taking off their socks. We saw (and heard) many Canada Geese flying south in V-formations over us. Must have been a big moving day.

E helped me take the car to get an oil change in the morning. Then she had gymnastics. For the first time, she got onto the uneven bars by herself. This means holding the lower bar and climbing up onto it, then letting go with one hand and reaching up to the high bar while standing on the low bar. Then swinging from the high bar. Pretty brave stuff.
J had a princess dress-up party to go to with Mom. There is much debate about what is fair these days. Everything must be fair. For instance, E was very upset that J was going to a party and getting cake without her. She even asked J and mom to bring back a piece. “That is not fair” E said. I explained that E had already gone to 7 parties and that this was J’s first. To be truly fair I reasoned, we should go home and give J six more pieces of cake while E got none. E did not think that was a fair idea.

J really likes wearing her pajamas all day. It was funny listening to E reason with her as to why this was not acceptable. “You can’t wear your pajamas all day because it’s a ‘Bummer’. Other people would see you in your pajamas and then they would want to be in them too. You shouldn’t make other people sad.”
In dental news, both girls have had good dental check-ups and at E’s appointment, she learned that she has her first loose tooth! But it is just starting to move and will likely take months before it falls out.
