Well,we spent a day with him and “Dr. Midnight” as a name and he just didn’t seem like a Dr. Midnight. So we talked it over and (after bribing N. with candy) his name is now “Huckleberry” and we’ll probably call him “Huck”. He seems more like a “Huckleberry” and we like the Mark Twain nod and the fact that a huckleberry is actually a low bush blueberry and they are very common in Maine.
Mom, there’s a good chance he will be like Snook. Apparently that’s a big part of the Maine Coon cat breed. The are called the dog cat by some people, because their personality is a lot like a dog. It really explains a lot about Snook (his size, the trill he would make when trying to catch birds, the fact that he didn’t really meow, the fact that he would fetch, was leash trainable, etc.). It would be great if Huck had those traits.

Huckleberry is a great name! It would also be a great kind of pie. Yummy.

Huck is a little purr machine. Molly really likes him, but Huck is quick to smack her. Matty is still less sure. Shadow is the least sure.

The name Huckleberry suits him. Good choice. I like the photos a lot. I think I will have to print one for the bulletin board.
