Fun at Epcot

October 11th, 2009

I got to spend the day at Epcot yesterday with Nikki, Jeff, Kathy and Rich. We had a great time and Nikki ran us ragged. Epcot is a cool place because it is actually a learning center desguised as an amusment park. The food and wine expo was also going on there which was fun. There were small booths set up in the international village section that sold small samples of the food and wine for that country. For dinner we went to a German restaurant that was good. The spatzle was not as good as Tam’s! The best ride was one called Sorin. It was a simulation of flying over parts of California. It was a great simulation that even included making it smell of oranges as you went over the orange fields.

This morning we were all meeting at Starbucks for breakfast. Kathy and Rich were rear-ended on the way there. Nobody got hurt, but Rich’s car will need a new bumper.

While I’ve been gone this week, Scott has been packing. We will start moving into the née place on the 15th. The move will be a litle easier having the SUV. I moved most all of the small things last time in my little car. We will only need to rent a truck for the few large items. I promise to post some pictures as soon as we get in to take some.

Out & Equal Convention

October 6th, 2009

Well I’m sitting at the airport writting yet another post. This time I’m on my way to Orlando to the Out & Equal Convention for work. Out and Equal is the largest organization that deals with Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered, and Bisexual issues in the work place. It is attended by a couple of thousand each year, and Abbott had asked me to represent my division for the convention. It will be a good time, and the seminars and presenters are very interesting.

I am staying a couple of extra days to go to Disney with Nikki, Jeff, Kathy, and Rich. It should be fun since I’ve never been to Disney. Nikki is already excited and has us dinner reservations in Epcot.

San Francisco Here We Come

September 27th, 2009

We have been looking an places to live in the city this weekend. The first place we looked at was a beautiful loft with a great view of the city. We fell in love with the place and are now working with the owner on renting details. I’ll post some pics when I get some. Also I will keep everybody up to date with the address change.

Zip Line Adventure

September 18th, 2009

So we did the zip line adventure yesterday. I thought it would a little frightening, but it was not. You are basically in a seat harness which gets attached to your cable wheels. Once you are hooked onto the zip line you only have to walk off the edge and soar across to the landing platform. The average height was 125 ft. And the longest run was 1125ft. We did 8 total zips and it was totally worth the money spent. I’ll have to figure out how to post the video I took while doing one of the zip lines when I get home.

Another Day of Fun

September 17th, 2009

Last night was an early night for us. We went to an incredible sushi restaurant, and went for the early bird special because everything ordered between 5:30 and 6:00 is 25% off. We came back to the resort and had Mai Tais and deserts. The Mai Tais here at the resort have been the best so far. Today we are doing a zip line tour. There are a total of 8 zip lines. We will do 4 and then have lunch on top of a tower platform then do the remaining 4. I’m a little frightened by hights and I’m hoping this will get me over my fear. We will see…
