A Short (Sort Of) Catch-Up

Sunday, April 24th, 2005

Wow! We’ve been bad about updating this thing. So much has piled up since the last time we posted that we’ll necessarily have to be brief (quit your rejoicing). First, we went on a beautiful hike with our friend Kristen - she’s awesome. We have a couple funny shots we took at lunch involving amusingly placed strawberries, but since this is a PG-rated site we won’t share (quit your rejoicing - I dun told you twice now!). Windy Hill is part of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and it’s truly amazing to see all this beautiful park land stretching from the valley up to Skyline Drive and the ocean beyond. Even more amazing - it’s surrounded by towns composed of nothing but mulit-million dollar estates. I can’t even imagine what it might be worth.

The next week, Howard was in SF for some healthclub owner’s convention type thing. We met him on Friday and had a great dinner. We were walking around and I got a call on my cellphone from a friend back in Chicago. Turns out, he and his partner were two blocks away from us leaving the movies. So, we had an impromptu Chicago reunion over dessert. The next day, we drove down to Monterey and drove the 17-Mile Scenic Drive past Pebble Beach and Big Sur. Just one picture perfect vista after another. Then we went to dinner at this amazing place called Sierra Mar at the Post Ranch Inn. The restaurant was all-glass and perched literally on stilts 1200′ feet above the waves crashing onto the sheer cliffside. Yep, life in Cali is pretty darn rough.

For the sake of brevity (I won’t dignify your reaction by responding), I’ll skip the San Bruno Mountain hike. Suffice it to say, we should know to consult before we leave the house. As you know, shortly thereafter Roger jetted off to Galway, Ireland for a week of work. I’d have loved to have joined him for some sightseeing for a few days, but we don’t have any vacation days to spare with the cruise coming up in August.

Lastly (no, really) we have an addition to the family. No, Bucca is still with us. I know many of you are car fans, so I’m posting pictures of my new baby (loved my old car, but when the warranty ran out, things got downright frightening). Mine has the wheels shown in the front view pic, but otherwise my car looks exactly like this. After threatening to walk out on the salesman and calling him a liar twice, I got a pretty good deal. Sheesh, I hate that haggling crap.

Roger promised to post more during the week. Gotta go, my dinner’s getting cold!

Things Have Gotten a Little Crazy

Friday, April 8th, 2005

Well we promised to update everybody on our latest fun and excitementhave gotten, but things have gotten a little crazy for me at work and I have found myself in Galway Ireland. From what I can tell it is very pretty here. I’ve been spoiled living in Cali, it’s cold and wet here, and even snowed last night while we were out. I have seen more of the pubs than the country, but everybody here tells me the pubs are the country. I’ll have to update more when I get back into the states tomorrow. Hope everything ios going well across the pond.
